City Island

Part I

 

City Island is a Nautical Community. Multiple Marinas and kayak clubs. There is a beach on every block and the block runs and organizes activities and maintenance of their block beach. The island has two parks and it is located next to the largest park in NYC. The biggest concern of the island is the summer traffic. The summer traffic is horrendous because there is only one lane onto the island and one lane out. Due to the amount of restaurants on city island and seating by the water, this is a very hot destination for the communities nearby.

The following map to the right shows the recent increase in market sales. After doing research, a lot of new condo developments are being build - waterfront properties.

Part II

In these last eight weeks, nothing has changed regarding healthy habitat. However, I did learn that with the new bridge that the city has build, they plan to add a new, big park next to the new bridge. It looks as if it still under construction and will not be available until next year.
